CKay qui a collaboré avec les plus grands noms de la musique sur le continent comme Davido et Burna Boy, développe un sous genre dénommé « Emo-afrobeats » qui met l’accent sur un aspect plus lyrique des sonorités. Sa vidéo sur YouTube, « Emiliana » tournée à Dakar, la capitale sénégalaise, est dans la même veine et a rencontré un grand succès avec 62 millions de vues. Il a sorti il y a un mois un nouveau single « By now », qui fait également son petit bout de chemin avec un peu plus de 4 millions.
