Le dimanche 28 janvier, les pays de l’Alliance des États du Sahel (AES) que sont le Mali, le Niger et le Burkina Faso annonçaient conjointement leur retrait de la CEDEAO (Communauté économique des États d’Afrique de l’Ouest). Nouveau signe de leur défiance contre leurs voisins et partenaires régionaux. Quelles sont les potentielles conséquences économiques, pour les pays de l’AES comme pour la CEDEAO ? L’organisation régionale est-elle encore utile alors que la zone de libre-échange continentale (ZLECAF) se met en place ? Faut-il croire à une monnaie commune au sein des pays sahéliens pour remplacer le franc CFA qu’ils rejettent ?
